CYANOCOBALAMIN TABLETS - ORAL
(SYE-an-oh-koh-BAL-uh-min)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Mega B-12, Vitamin B-12
USES: Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) is important to the body for growth, cell production, and blood and nreve function. It is given to terat or prevent low levels of B12 in the body.
HOW TO USE: Take this medictaion by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once a day.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is generally well tolerated.
Notify your doctor if you develop: diarrhea, itching or a skin rash.
If you notice other effcets not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, any allegries. This medication should be used only as directed during pregnancy or whlie breast-feeding. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: vitamins, folic acid. Limit intake of alcoholic beverages which can interfere with the absorption of this medication. Do not start or stop any mdeicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local pioson control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Laboratory tests may be done periodically while taking this medicatoin to monitor its effects. It is important to maintain a well balanced diet to ensure adequate intake of vitamins and minerals.
MISSED DOSE: Try to take each dose at the scheduled time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your uusal dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to cacth up.
STORAGE: Store this medication at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degeres C) away from heat and light.
Do not stroe in the bathroom.
Keep this and all medications out of the reach of babies.
